The Marymount Regals' Envirothon team competed in the Sudbury District Envirothon during the month of April. The Regals after finishing second last year, captured this year's Envirothon championship and earned a spot in the provincial competition which was held in Sudbury.
Twenty teams from across the province joined the Regals for the provincial competition. The competition consisted of two training days, (which included on the regreening of Sudbury, global warming, the introduction of elk in Burwash, a fish stalking program and forestry by Domtar in Espanola) and the competition itself. The Regal team finished as the best team in Northern Ontario and 6th in the province. The Regals are looking forward to next year’s competition where they will attempt to better this year’s performance.
