Thomas DeLong smiles as he demonstrates his simple machine

March 20, 2006 - Grade 2 students at St. Christopher accepted the challenge to build a machine that could move a hundred gram mass. Each child planned and constructed a structure that used one or more of the six simple machines studied in class. The structures were made with materials found around the house. Their unique machines were shared with fellow students, teachers and parents at their mini Science Fair in the gym. Every child presented a unique machinge that did, in fact, move a 100 g mass.
