Local Red Cross Recognized for Work in SCDSB Schools

December 7, 2005 - Danielle Gelinas, Community Service Coordinator for the Canadian Red Cross Society, Sudbury recently received the Ontario School Counsellors Assocation (OSCA) Appreciation award at the OSCA Conference in Toronto. Danielle and the Canadian Red Cross Society, Sudbury were nominated by Maurizio Visentin, Guidance Counsellor at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School. The award was presented to the Red Cross in recognition for their educational partnership work with the Sudbury Catholic District School Board's secondary schools. St. Benedict and Bishop Alexander Catholic Secondary Schools have invited the Canadian Red Cross to address and reinforce expectations in the Choices Into Action and Healthy Active Living Ministry of Education documents.
