St. Charles Elementary Students Explore Their Senses Through Goalball

photo
Pictured is Kailey Appleby, Nathan Castonguay and Shawn Huzij, wearing the Goalball shades. The shades allow all players to play on equal footing by eliminating the use of the sense of sight during the game. Instead, students must listen for the ball, which has bells inside.

February 15, 2013 - JK/SK students in teacher Amy Malafarina's class at St. Charles Catholic Elementary School learned more about their senses of hearing, touch and sight as they experienced the skills of the game Goalball. Thank you to teacher Adriano Simonato, a vision resource teacher with the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, for sharing his expertise and love for the sport with us!
