Sudbury Catholic District School Board Trustees
Education in Ontario is a shared responsibility between the province and local school districts. Publicly elected school trustees ensure that the local community has a strong voice in the education of its children. Each trustee assumes a liaison role with a number of schools in the District.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board Trustee
Sudbury Catholic District School Board Trustees, as representatives of the Sudbury Catholic Community must ensure that the mission of Catholic Education, as part of the broader mission of the Church if fulfilled. They must also honour a set of additional expectations that have been set for them by the Church, by the Catholic Community and by the traditional understanding of the Catholic Trustees’ role and the by the Ministry’s Education Act.
For the Sudbury Catholic District School Board Trustee, the Church’s mission to proclaim, teach and witness to the Gospel finds its particular expression in the mission of the Catholic School. The end result being that the mission of the Catholic School is to evangelize youth so that they will become not only well-developed persons and good citizens but also faithful Disciples of Christ and “witness to the faith.”
