Hitting the Trails at St. Paul:  St. Paul Catholic Elementary School teacher Lisa Wright's Grade 2/3 FI students had a wonderful morning with Sudbury Catholic outdoor education teacher Brad Blackwell on Thursday, February 18th. Students learned that creatures in this area have 3 choices to make during winter. 1) hibernate 2) migrate 3) stay and tough it out . Mr. Blackwell delivered an interesting and amusing presentation.

About the Centre
The Killarney-Shebanoning Environmental Education Centre offers curriculum based outdoor education programming and opportunities for students to learn about healthy living, child and youth stewardship, values of faith, community studies, aboriginal teachings, ecological and environmental studies from elementary school, through high school and beyond. The centre is based at St. Joseph Catholic School in the village of Killarney on more than 7 acres of land. A partnership with Killarney Provincial Park caps off this rich and unique educational experience.

Brad Blackwell

Welcome from Brad Blackwell
Throughout my entire life, the outdoors has been my playground. In my youngest years, my curiosity about the rocks, trees, and other wonders of the earth often occupied my thoughts. This was further strengthened through family adventures that were largely spent on the land and waters of northern Ontario, and particularly the majestic waters of Georgian Bay and the North Channel of Lake Huron.   Read more...
